1. What kind of preschool is Bayview Community Preschool?
Bayview Community Preschool is a licensed play-based, child-led preschool in Kitsilano, Vancouver. Our programs encourage children to explore, create, ask questions, build relationships, and develop confidence through hands-on learning and play.
We are located within Bayview Community Elementary School, at 3505 W 7th Avenue in Vancouver, giving preschoolers the opportunity to become familiar with a school environment from an early age. Children experience school spaces, routines, and the wider community in a welcoming preschool setting as they prepare for kindergarten.
Our preschool has been part of the Bayview school community since 1974, with roots in Kitsilano and a long history of growing alongside local families.
2. What is unique about Bayview’s location?
Yes. Our hands-on STEAM program introduces preschoolers to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math through experimentation, creativity, problem-solving, building, and discovery. Learning is inquiry-based and grounded in play.
3. Does Bayview offer a STEAM program?
Bayview Nature is an outdoor nature program affiliated with Bayview Community Preschool. The programs are separately operated, with Bayview Community Preschool being licensed and Bayview Nature operating separately from the licensed preschool program. To find out more, click HERE.

Bayview Community Preschool is designed for children ages 2.5–5. Children do not need to be potty-trained, however it is strongly recommended.
