Yes. Families can choose to participate in both programs, giving children opportunities to experience Bayview's play-based approach in two very different environments.
Bayview Community Preschool provides a licensed indoor preschool setting at Bayview Community Elementary School, while Bayview Nature Program takes learning outdoors at Jericho Beach Park.
The two programs share a common philosophy and connection to the Bayview community.
E xplore Bayview Nature Programs
Bayview combines a warm, play-based preschool experience with hands-on learning and STEAM exploration, all within a purpose-built preschool classroom at Bayview Community Elementary School. Being part of an elementary school community can help children become familiar with a school setting and ease the transition to kindergarten.

Both programs offer a play-based preschool experience, but with different areas of focus. The Indoor Program provides a broad mix of play, social learning, art, stories and hands-on activities, while the STEAM Program places a greater emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics through hands-on exploration, experiments, building and problem-solving.
Our Indoor Preschool and STEAM programs are located in a purpose-built preschool classroom within Bayview Community Elementary School in Kitsilano, Vancouver.

Our programs welcome children from 30 months (2.5 years) to 5 years old. While potty training is not required, we strongly recommend that children are working towards independence with toileting before starting preschool.
