Who we are
Nearly 50 Years of Growing With Our Families!
Bayview Community Preschool (Bayview) traces its roots back to 1974, when a group of parents in Kitsilano formed a cooperative playgroup for their young children at the historic 1914 Bayview Community Elementary school. This beginning blossomed into a play-based preschool, led by enthusiastic Early Childhood Education teachers and enriched by active parent participation - an approach we still hold dear today!
This strong foundation has supported the growth and change of the preschool, from a Parent Participation Preschool (2004) to a Parent Involvement model (2014), allowing more flexibility for our families.
From September 2019 – March 2023, the Bayview Elementary School, the building we operated in was closed for seismic upgrades and we relocated to Queen Elizabeth Annex (QEA), which is also home to a French Immersion program for Kindergarten to Grade 3.
In March 2023 we moved back to our purpose-built classroom at Bayview Elementary School. (3505 W 7th Ave, Vancouver, V6R 3L1).
In 2023, we are thrilled to be offering over 15 different registration options for our families, including a preschool class that specializes in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), running morning and afternoon classes five days a week at our Preschool.
