Who are we? We asked our team…in their own words; here is why our educators love to work at Bayview Community Preschool.

If we had to sum it up in a word… we would say COMMUNITY!

We are a family oriented environment, we cultivate a phenomenal community and come together at various times in the year for many projects and purposes. 

It is our people that make working here special. The warmth, support and openness of the families, parent board and teachers is infinite. We all thrive here, parents, children and educators alike, because the preschool truly fosters a genuine sense of belonging. We support each other’s growth, we collaborate, and we are an extension of each other’s families, caring deeply for one another; the children feel this deeply and are therefore able to care for each other in a meaningful way too. 

Our ability to create relationships with families that transcend time really stands us  out from the crowd, not only with visits from children and families long after they’ve graduated, but also with participation from alumni in community projects. 

As teachers we are given flexibility, autonomy and creative license by our board; so we feel encouraged to dream, imagine and grow - the possibilities really are endless. With this comes a safe space to share ideas, troubleshoot and reimagine them along the way. 

There are many other benefits of being on the team too! We are given opportunities and encouragement for individual and team professional development, along with time for regular planning meetings being carved out and respected. We are also each given a generous outdoor gear allowance annually. ECE’s receive the government wage enhancement which enables us to earn a living wage. 

With this role comes a true sense of job satisfaction and the opportunity to make a huge impact in the lives of many children. 

Current Postings

We are always looking for Substitute Educators to join our growing team! $22 per hour for a minimum of 4 hours pay.

Class times are either 2.5 hours at Jericho Park/Pacific Spirit Park or 3 hours at Queen Elizabeth Annex (so paid time included for daily risk assessment and class preparation).
