Diana Senichenko Mello was born in Vancouver and raised by her family of Colombian and Russian-Ukrainian origin. She grew up with a love for nature and respect for cultural diversity, which led her to pursue a degree in cultural anthropology from UBC, and later, a Masters in Sustainable Development from Paris, France. Diana lived in Europe for nearly a decade with her husband and first son where she taught Yoga, wellbeing and sustainability education to the community. She founded a non-profit association as part of the Transition Towns global network- locally known as Village Vancouver.
Since 2017, Diana and her family returned to BC where she has worked for local non-profits and educational organizations that promote healthy and sustainable living and has recently started her nature program for young families. As an educator, Diana believes she must be authentic and teach about the beauty and instinctive relationship we have with the natural world and one another. Diana finds great joy in raising and playing with her 3-year-old and 10-year-old boys and is thrilled to be part of Bayview Community Preschool and Nature program!
