ECE Supervisor Position
We are seeking an experienced Early Childhood Educator Supervisor to join our leadership team at Bayview Community Preschool. Our Preschool has a strong philosophy of learning through play, project-based learning, and connecting to nature. We offer a registered preschool program at Bayview Elementary School and an outdoor nature program at Jericho Beach park.

Hours
30 - 35 hours per week
Salary
$24 - $27 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications) plus $4.00 BC Government Early Childhood Educator Wage Enhancement.

Required Qualifications*
A current ECE Certificate *
Current Emergency First Aid and CPR C Certificate *
Current BC Criminal Record Check *
Wilderness or Forest Schools training (Desired)
Leadership and Management for Childcare (Desired)
Experience
Ideal candidate has +4 year experience managing and/or leading a team in a licensed preschool or childcare.
The Ideal Candidate Demonstrates
A passion for working with children and opening up their natural tendency to connect and play both inside and outdoors.
An ability to inspire, motivate, strengthen and work collaboratively with other educators and within a leadership team.
The ability to understand the needs of key stakeholders ranging from the Board of Directors, Parents, Administration/HR/Payroll, and licensing agencies.
An ability to provide a rich, exciting and nurturing educational program that caters to children’s interests, learning, and development.
Possesses a child-led approach to learning.
Is able to assist the program director with all aspects of day to day running of the preschool.
Is able to establish and maintain a good rapport with the preschool’s licensing officer.
A working knowledge and understanding of the BC Child Care Licensing Regulations rules and requirements.
Ability to implement concepts and principles from the BC Early Learning Framework in an informed manner.
Understands how to guide children’s behaviour in accordance with Vancouver Coastal Health’s guidance documentation.
Reliable and dependable, demonstrating exemplary time-management, self-management, written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and is compassionate.
An ability to form trusting, respectful relationships with children, families, and teachers.
