What to wear

  • Ensure your child is dressed comfortably and for the weather in clothes you do not mind getting dirty & messy.

  • Please bring a pair of inside shoes to leave at preschool for your child to change into when they arrive

  • Tried and tested brands we recommend

What to Pack

  1. Filled water bottle.

  2. A snack for your child to enjoy at some point during the program (please consider sending containers which are lightweight and your child will eventually be able to open and close independently).

  3. Weather appropriate gear (ie. Rain gear, winter gear, extra layers, sunscreen, sun hat).

  4. We recommend having a full set of extra clothes in your child’s cubby, which are seasonally appropriate, including extra underwear and socks. Also, having an extra carrier bag to send any wet, messy, or soiled items home is useful.

Nice to have but not necessary:

  • Tissues.

  • Wet wipes.

Please refrain from bringing toys from home to Preschool, if your child is still potty training please provide several pairs of extra underwear along with a package of wet wipes.

Drop Off

Teachers will open the door when ready to welcome the children into the program; the door will be closed once the majority of children have arrived; if you arrive later feel free to come straight in.

  • If your child needs assistance to hang up & store their belongings in their cubby feel free to help them; the teachers are also more than happy to help your child with this.

  • Ask your child to go into the washroom and wash their hands before they enter the classroom.

  • Please don’t leave without saying goodbye to your child, let them know you (or whoever is coming to get them) will be back at 11.45  or 2.45 before you say your goodbyes and head out.

  • Children are welcome to wave parents and caregivers off at our window.

  • You are welcome to come into the classroom briefly, we ask that you aim to leave within 10 minutes of dropping off your child so everyone can settle into their daily routine. You know your child best, for some children, they will find it even more difficult to separate the longer you stay, you may wish to stay in the cubby area or drop at the door, please talk to your child’s teacher to collaborate and come up with a plan that will set your child up for success.

  • If your child is having difficulty separating from you, please connect with your child’s teacher to discuss strategies.

Pick up

Pick up for the morning program will be at the same door where you drop off, children will enjoy group time in the cubby, and be dismissed as their parents & caregivers arrive.

  • Pick up for the afternoon program will be outside, adjacent to the fire exit door, under our covered area

  • If there is any change in wherein to pick up your child a note will be posted on Procare.

  • Please ensure a teacher knows you are taking your child so they can be safely signed out.

Sickness Policy

(Applies to both Indoor and Outdoor Programs)

The sickness policy contained in our Parent Handbook applies across all our programs.

  • Please note the following pertinent information:

  • Your child must stay home for 24 hours after a fever has broken

  • Your child must stay home for 48 hours after any vomiting or diarrhea

  • If your child has a cough or cold they should not return to school until such time as the mucus from their nose runs totally clear for 24 hours.

  • We understand that coughs linger, in order for a child to return to school the cough must be dry, not wet; and this must be the only residual symptom. I.e. if your child has a runny nose and a cough they are not ready to return to the classroom.

Thank you for adhering to these rules in order to keep all the children and the staff in our community safe.
