20. Drop-Off & Pick-Up

  • Your child’s teacher will sign your child in at the beginning of each class and out again when they are picked up by their parent or caregiver.

  • We ask that you do not “sneak out” of the preschool during drop off times. It is important that your child sees you leave and knows that you will be coming back.

  • Please notify educators if a new person will be dropping off or picking-up your child.

Late Pick-up

We trust that families plan to drop off and pick up their children on time. When a parent is late, it can cause the child distress. If you are unable to pick up on time, it is your responsibility to:

  • Contact your child’s Emergency Contact (please remind them to bring their ID) or another parent from the preschool to arrange pick up your child.

  • Contact your child’s teachers to let them know of the change in routine.

In the event that a child has not been picked up 15 minutes following the end of class, and educators have not been informed as to why, Bayview will take the following steps:

  • Attempt to contact the parents/guardians by phone and text.

  • Attempt to reach the emergency contact person(s) listed on your child’s form.

  • If we cannot reach a parent/gaurdian or an emergency contact within one hour, the Ministry of Child Services will be contacted and the child will be taken into custody by the appropriate agency.

  • We also recognize that life sometimes gets in the way of best laid plans. However, if a parent or guardian’s lateness becomes a pattern, they will be asked to meet with the Board and educators to strategize on how to address the issue.
