Covid-19 Update

As of, March 21st, Bayview Preschool teachers no longer wear masks inside the classroom.

This has had a positive impact on children’s language, social and emotional learning as they can now see their teachers smiling faces.Mask wearing is personal choice and children are welcome to continue wearing a masks and this choice will be respected.

The guidelines for children and adults returning from international travel have just changed, and children above the age of 2 are now required to wear a mask at preschool (both indoors and outdoors) for 14 days after re-entering Canada. Wearing a mask has not been a requirement for children at our preschool, so your child may not be used to wearing one in this setting. However, children who have travelled abroad will be used to wearing the masks on flights and in airports. If you have returned from travel outside Canada in the last 14 days please supply your child with a couple of masks and we will encourage them to wear it but not enforce it if they are uncomfortable or distressed.
